About Music + Movement

Music + Movement classes began in April 2000 and have been successful from the outset reaching over 1500 children per week. Music + Movement was founded by Helen Battelley who trained at LAMDA, UTD and ISTD. After graduating spent seven years living and working in Spain where she discovered a passion for Flamenco. Since then Helen has worked extensively with young children.

All Music + Movement staff are fully trained and qualified dance/drama professionals, who have gained experience in both performing and choreography. It is also vital to possess that extra special quality when working with toddlers and pre-school children. All Music + Movement teachers either have children of their own or have spent many years working with young children.

Music + Movement follow Safer Recruitment in line with Safeguarding Children. All staff hold Full Enhanced CRB forms and First Aid Certification. Prior to each setting a Risk Assessment is completed and a copy kept on file. All staff are aware of our Health and Safety Policy and Child Protection Policy.

Our classes reach into all the aspects of children’s physical and psychological needs in an exciting, captivating and friendly environment. The activities covered will build self-confidence, social awareness and group interaction. Music + Movement is an ideal foundation for budding theatrical stars while providing a rich atmosphere for imaginative and stimulating play.

In order to maintain the quality of our tuition and services provided, evaluation forms are distributed at the end of each term to all parents. All comments are evaluated and where possible changes are made to incorporate improvements and suggestions made by parents.
